Phan Chu Trinh School
Phan Chu Trinh School was established in 1946 at 40-42 Phan Chu Trinh Street (now Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi City). Upon its establishment, Phan Chu Trinh School included both primary and secondary levels. The Director (Principal) was the renowned cultural and educational figure: Professor Dang Thai Mai. The General Secretary was Mr. Nguyen Huan, and the primary teachers at that time included: Ms. Nguyen Khoa Dieu Hong, Mr. Le Viet Khoa, Musician Luu Huu Phuoc, Painters Nguyen Do Cung and Phan Ke Anh, Writer Nguyen Dinh Thi, and Poet Nguyen Xuan Sanh.
Award Wining Time
From the very beginning of the 1946 school year, Phan Chu Trinh School had the distinct honor of welcoming President Ho Chi Minh for a visit. His advice, "Unite in competition, teach well, learn well," became the driving force that helped the school overcome all difficulties, develop, and continuously strive forward throughout the years. Just less than three months after the opening day on September 16, 1946, Phan Chu Trinh School had to temporarily close so that teachers and students could participate in the national resistance war against the French colonial invasion. At that time, many students from the school joined the "Suicide Squad" movement (Cam Tu Quan) with the slogan "Determined to die for the Fatherland to live." Over 30 years, alongside the entire Vietnamese nation successfully carrying out the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American invaders, many generations of teachers and students made worthy contributions and achieved outstanding growth. In the following 30 years, starting from 1975 when Southern Vietnam was completely liberated and the country unified, Phan Chu Trinh School entered a new phase of development. In the 1993-1994 school year, implementing the policy of the Ministry of Education & Training, Phan Chu Trinh Primary and Secondary School (PTCS) was split into two separate schools: Phan Chu Trinh Secondary School (THCS) and Phan Chu Trinh Primary School. Phan Chu Trinh Secondary School was relocated to 24 Nguyen Cong Hoan Street in Ngoc Khanh Ward, Ba Dinh District, where it remains to this day.

Inheriting the traditions of previous generations, the teachers and students of Phan Chu Trinh School today always uphold the spirit of unity and strive to build an increasingly strong school based on the principle of comprehensive education. Each school year achieves more accomplishments than the previous one. The school continuously earns the title of "Excellent Advanced School." In 2002, the Ministry of Education & Training and the Hanoi People's Committee issued a decision recognizing it as the first "NATIONAL STANDARD" secondary school in the capital city of Hanoi. In the 2002-2003 school year, the school was awarded the Third-Class Labor Order by the State President; in the 2008-2009 school year: the Second-Class Labor Order; and in the 2016-2017 school year: the First-Class Labor Order.
